Skinspots was established by Doctor Franz Strydom to meet the demand for primary care skin cancer screening and treatment. Dr. Strydom was part of the team that developed the minor surgery skin cancer project for the ministry of health in the Bay of Plenty and is credentialed by the DHB and PHO to provide basic to advanced level of care for patients with skin cancer.

He also attends and presents local and overseas courses on skin cancer. His practice involves skin cancer detection, prevention and treatment. He is also the first New Zealand doctor to receive a fellowship from the newly formed Skin Cancer Association of Australia and New Zealand. Formal qualifications – Bachelor of Sciences, Honours and Master degrees in medical science’s.

Graduated from Stellenbosch University as a medical doctor. Holds Fellowships with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, and with the Skin Cancer College. Further training includes Advanced certificates in Dermoscopy / Dermal Imaging and Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery from the University of Brisbane. Certificate in Fundamental Techniques of Plastic Surgery for GPs, Skin Cancer Histopathology.
